Meet our Pastor ! Rev. Dr. Henry and Shirley Butler
Thank you for the privilege to introduce myself. I am married to Shirley, and we will celebrate 39 years of marriage in November 2008. We have a blended family of five children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, As a retired ordained elder in the UMC, it has been my privilege to serve Gary’s for the past four years. My prime goal in life is to know Christ and make Him known to others. Growing up in a Christian home, I knew about Jesus but it wasn’t until April 1973 that I met Him in a personal and intimate relationship. This transforming change in my life led me to answer God’s call to full time service. Like Peter the fisherman, who left his nets and followed Jesus, I left a career in the food industry to prepare for full time service to our Lord as a pastor in the United Methodist Church. This position has given me the joy and privilege of preaching and teaching His Word to the least, the last, and the lost over these last 35 years. On behalf of the wonderful members of the Gary’s United Methodist Church, I'd like to personally welcome you to join us on Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 9:45 am and Worship services at 11 am.

Gary’s is a community centered in Christ, bound by grace, and called to model God's vision of inclusive love. Our ministry begins here as we move beyond all barriers to a place of faithful worship. God's ministry continues through the lives of each person who carries his or her faith back into the world. Peace to all who enter here.
