Meet our Pastor !

Rev. Dr. Henry and Shirley Butler

Thank you for the privilege to introduce myself. I am married to Shirley, we celebrated 44years of marriage in November 2011. We have a blended family of five children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a retired ordained elder in the Methodist Church, it has been my privilege to serve Gary’s for the past seven years. Growing up in a Christian home, I knew about Jesus but it wasn’t until April 1973 that I fully surrendered my life to Him and experienced His resurrected Presence and Power in my life through the Holy Spirit. This transforming change in my life led me to answer God’s call to full time service. Like Peter the fisherman, who left his nets and followed Jesus, I left a career in the food industry to prepare for full time service to our Lord as a pastor in the United Methodist Church. This position has given me the joy and privilege of preaching and teaching His Word to the least, the last, and the lost over these last 38 years. On behalf of the wonderful members of the Gary’s United Methodist Church, I would like to personally welcome you to join us on Sunday mornings for Sunday school at 9:45 am and Worship services at 11 am.
